Earlier this week Micha and I finished watching The West Wing for the first time. She kindly held off on watching the finale until I was caught up. (We've watched it together off and on, ever since discovering we'd both started watching it over the summer.) What a lovely end to a wonderful series. I completely understand why so many people say it's their favorite show. It's hard to pick a favorite among such a stellar cast. Though of course I have my favorites: Charlie, CJ, Leo.
I was invited to join a book club last fall but it met on the same night as the 1-4-2 Enneagram group I was in so last night was the first time I was able to go. We discussed Island Beneath The Sea by Isabel Allende and it was a really great conversation about complex subjects. It was one of the most honest depictions of slavery I've read in a novel. We're going to read When Breath Becomes Air (coincidentally on my What I'm Reading In 2016 list) next month and I cannot wait. This might be the book club of my dreams.
Don't forget: the January 2016 What I'm Into linkup starts Monday February 1!
Jane the Virgin is one of my favorite shows. The Atlantic has a great piece on the show's diversity, as well as the matrilineal relationships.
On Being had a thought-provoking article about how New Friendship Is The Last Great Romance.
Young House Love fans will appreciate this look at their decision to quit their blog and what's happened in the year since.
My friend Addie Zierman had two fantastic pieces up this week: The Rainy Winter Vacation (On Practicing Gratitude) and When You Want To Believe...And Can't.
I didn't realize Hillary Clinton has been talking about love and kindness for so many years. Very interesting profile, no matter who you plan on voting for.
