Y'all, I am so freaking close to finishing my WIP. This has been my most prolific week of writing ever, though sadly, you haven't been able to benefit from my wordiness here. We'll be back to our usual loveliness soon, I promise.
In the meantime, I wanted to update you on a few things.
What a Woman is Worth
Awhile back, I wrote Learning What I'm Worth for the What We're Worth Community Collective. The collective began in response to my friend Tamara's What's Girl Worth post over at A Deeper Story.
The response to the posts submitted to the collective was so strong and powerful, it led to Tamara getting a book contract. What a Woman is Worth will be a collection of stories exploring "people’s experiences, perspectives, and thoughts on the worth of women and girls in an effort to bring about greater awareness of the cultural endemic that leaves them wounded, to offer catharsis, comfort, and community, and to give affirmation of the inestimable worth of all people. Specifically, the essays will explore ways in which women and girls are led into disbelieving their worth and offer messages that combat the devaluing of women and girls with godly truth."
Killer Tribes conference
Have you all heard about this yet? My blog friend/twin Jessica Buttram clued me in last week, since it's right in my backyard. A blog conference in Nashville with awesome speakers that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Sign. me. up.
You should sign up too! The Super Early Bird rate of $79 ends tomorrow, then jumps up to $89. Still a good deal. The conference is on Saturday March 31 and there'll be a meet-up the night before. Seriously, guys. You get to go to a great conference, learn lots, meet blog friends, and experience Nashville. What's not to love?
I'm so excited! Let me know if you'll be going.
Bye Bye Google Friend Connect
Google recently announced that Google Friend Connect will only be for Blogger blogs as of this spring. So if you follow HopefulLeigh through GFG, please take a moment to follow by email or the reader of your choice instead. You can also like HopefulLeigh on Facebook. So many options. I'll be taking the widget down after the new year.
Or hey. If you peruse HopefulLeigh from time to time, consider making it official. Did you know publishers pay attention to such things? You will totally be helping me out by connecting this way. I promise to send lots of appreciation your way.
In closing, thank you for all of your encouragement the past several months. It has been exciting to share this writing journey with you all. I hope you'll be able to read my novel someday soon!
Anything that I should know?
