A long time ago A year and a half ago, I came across Megan of SortaCrunchy's What I'm Into posts. Genius! I thought. There are few things I enjoy more than discussing books, music, TV, and whatnot. And so, I started recording what I was into each month.
Since my writing tends to be serious and introspective, I like having a post that shows other- read: more light-hearted- sides of me. Not only can you learn about my wide-ranging interests, my sense of humor comes out to play when I write about what I'm into. Plus, it's nice having a monthly record of the shows I went to and the books/music/TV/food I consumed.
As time has gone on, other people have started writing their own What I'm Into posts. I get such a kick out of that! I'm certainly not the originator of this concept but I like seeing it spread. Plus, I wind up with evermore recommendations.
Starting this month, What I'm Into will become a link-up. I want to hear what YOU'RE into!
The best thing about What I'm Into is that it is whatever you want it to be. Not much of a reader? Skip that category and talk about your current knitting project. Movie connossieur? Break it down into categories and tell us what we should be watching. Got a tasty new recipe? Share it. Dying over a YouTube video? We want to see it, too! Include a list of posts you've loved reading this past month. Talk about the new tea or coffee drink you're now obsessed with.
For examples, my What I'm Into posts are here.
Possible categories:
Books
TV
Music

Guidelines:
1. My post will go up on Friday November 30 at 1 am CST and the linky will stay up for 7 days. After this month, I'll announce the What I'm Into date on the current WII post.
2. You can write your What I'm Into post at any point. I like to do it at the end of the month but that's just me.
3. Link the unique URL of your post, not your blog's home page. Readers peruse link ups months after the fact and you want to make it easy for them to find your What I'm Into post.
4. Please include the What I'm Into button or mention you're linking up to What I'm Into with Leigh Kramer.

5. Share your post and read and comment on those who link up.
6. Keep reading, watching TV, and cooking good food. It's all fodder for your What I'm Into post!
Will you be linking up next week?
{FYI, I talked to Megan about turning this into a linky and she gave it her full blessing. She said she didn't come up with the concept either!}
